Verizon acknowledged the &#8220;issue impacting service&#8221; at 11:48 a.m.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p>We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Verizon News (@VerizonNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VerizonNews\/status\/1840780785084985777?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"follow noopener\" target=\"_self\">September 30, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The issue has been ongoing since its peak this morning when it had more than 100,000 queries \u2014 <i>Tom&#8217;s Guide<\/i> reports the number is down to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomsguide.com\/phones\/live\/massive-verizon-outage-live-updates-and-what-to-do-with-iphone-in-sos\" rel=\"follow noopener\" target=\"_self\">40,000 range<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><i>Reuters<\/i> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/media-telecom\/verizons-network-down-thousands-users-downdetector-shows-2024-09-30\/\" rel=\"follow noopener\" target=\"_self\">reports<\/a> that the FCC is investigating and &#8220;working to determine the cause and extent of these service disruptions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>At 5:04 p.m., Verizon updated customers on X and said it was a &#8220;network issue&#8221; that has &#8220;started to be restored.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We continue to work around the clock to fully resolve this issue,&#8221; they added.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p>Verizon engineers are making progress on our network issue and service has started to be restored. On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verizon.com\/support\/check-network-status\/?\" rel=\"follow noopener\" target=\"_self\">its website<\/a> and social media, Verizon said network engineers are working to identify and solve the problem.<\/p>\n<h2>Is AT&amp;T Also Down?<\/h2>\n<p>Although users were also reporting issues with AT&amp;T, the company said they are not experiencing outages, and it is just a residual effect.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p>We are not experiencing a nationwide outage. Our national network is operating normally.
