It Costs $200 Per Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>There&#8217;s a new level of ChatGPT available, but its $200-a-month price tag has the company pitching it to researchers and heavy users who are trying to push boundaries with the AI chatbot.<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/introducing-chatgpt-pro\/\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">introduced<\/a> the new plan, ChatGPT Pro, on Thursday. It&#8217;s 10 times more expensive than ChatGPT Plus, which costs $20 per month. I Tried GPT-4o to Find Out.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the added cost, a user gets unlimited access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomsguide.com\/news\/live\/12-days-of-openai-live-blog-chatgpt-sora\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">o1<\/a>, a new AI model that OpenAI introduced on Thursday. The o1 model<b> <\/b>is better than a human expert at PhD level science questions and has a reduced error rate and faster response time compared to previous models, per <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/iBfQTnA2n2s?feature=shared&amp;t=85\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">OpenAI&#8217;s release video<\/a>. Pro users also have unlimited access to the older <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/chatgpt-new-feature-lets-businesses-customize-gpt-4o\/478792\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">GPT-4o<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/help.openai.com\/en\/articles\/8400625-voice-mode-faq\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">Advanced Voice<\/a>, a capability that allows for natural spoken conversations with ChatGPT.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, the $20 ChatGPT Plus plan only offers limited access to o1 and Advanced Voice, which means that subscribers have a limit on how much they can talk to ChatGPT or use the chatbot&#8217;s most advanced model.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A lot of people, power users of ChatGPT at this point, they really use it a lot, they want more compute than $20 a month can buy,&#8221; OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iBfQTnA2n2s\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">in a video announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"OpenAI o1 and o1 pro mode in ChatGPT \u2014 12 Days of OpenAI: Day 1\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iBfQTnA2n2s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, OpenAI also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iBfQTnA2n2s\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">introduced<\/a> o1 pro mode, an AI model that the company says can tackle the hardest math, science, and programming problems. Only Pro members can access o1 pro mode.<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI says that researchers, engineers, and other heavy AI users will make the best use of Pro.
