These managers earned $320,000 to $570,000 last year, resulting in a possible pay increase of up to $100,000.<\/p>\n<p>A Walmart spokesperson specified to the Journal that the minimum base pay for market managers has increased from $130,000 to $160,000 a year, while the maximum has remained the same at $260,000 per year.<\/p>\n<p><b>Related:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/some-walmart-employees-are-wearing-body-cameras-heres-why\/484422\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">&#8216;We Need Panic Buttons&#8217;: Some Walmart Employees Begin Wearing Body Cameras<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The additional layers of compensation come from stock grants, which have increased to $100,000 a year from $75,000 last year, and potential annual bonuses, which are now up to 100% of base pay from 90% last year. Walmart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/walmart-store-managers-can-make-500k-stock-grants-bonuses\/468962\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">began offering<\/a> store managers stock grants last year.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/furner_were-having-a-great-time-at-our-walmart-activity-7157754584025755649-lPlR\/\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">video posted on Linkedin<\/a> last year first announcing that store managers would receive annual stock grants, Walmart&#8217;s U.S. president and CEO John Furner emphasized the critical part Walmart store managers play at the company.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A Walmart store manager is running a multimillion-dollar business and managing hundreds of people,&#8221; Furner said. &#8220;We ask our managers to own their roles and act like owners.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"399\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/embed\/feed\/update\/urn:li:ugcPost:7157754372712460289?compact=1\" title=\"Embedded post\" width=\"710\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><b>Related: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/walmart-layoffs-hundreds-of-employees-cut-relocated\/474220\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">Walmart to Lay Off Hundreds of Employees, Relocate Remote Workers Back to the Office<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Walmart Reduces Pay for Other Employees<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, Walmart is reducing perks in other areas, including reducing overall pay for some staff and cutting back on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/top-in-demand-skills-to-put-on-your-resume-for-remote-jobs\/483089\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">remote work<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In September, the retailer gave thousands of office staff new titles and pay packages, reducing stock awards for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/retail\/walmart-corporate-pay-benefits-stock-31b01dfe?mod=article_inline\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">2,000 workers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In May, Walmart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/retail\/walmart-to-lay-off-and-relocate-workers-d1c909a7\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">announced<\/a> that hundreds of remote workers would be mandated back to the office at the retailer&#8217;s headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, and other hubs around the country.<\/p>\n<p>Walmart employees <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/walmart-employees-push-back-against-return-to-office-mandate\/477986\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">pushed back on the return-to-office plan<\/a>, expressing concerns about childcare, life in another state, and their partner&#8217;s jobs also being affected.
