Oracle would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2025\/04\/02\/nx-s1-5349592\/tiktok-oracle-trump-china-deal\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">supervise the lease<\/a>, per NPR. Dodgers owner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectliberty.io\/news\/ahead-of-january-19-deadline-project-liberty-announces-a-formal-offer-to-acquire-tiktok-u-s\/\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">Frank McCourt<\/a> (who teamed up with Shark Tank investor Kevin O&#8217;Leary and <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/alexis-ohanian-tiktok-ban-trump-220e0dbc78e348af33152b9fab0f907c\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian<\/a>) in January. AI startup Perplexity also submitted a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/01\/18\/perplexity-ai-makes-a-bid-to-merge-with-tiktok-us.html\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">more than $50 billion<\/a> offer to merge its business with TikTok&#8217;s U.S. division.<\/p>\n<p>The TikTok saga has been ongoing since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/tiktok-sues-us-over-ban-law-says-bytedance-will-not-sell\/473846\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">April 2024<\/a> when lawmakers concerned about U.S. user data <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohio.edu\/news\/2025\/01\/banning-tiktok-turning-point-u-s-data-security-or-threat-free-speech\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">making its way<\/a> to the Chinese government passed a law to force ByteDance to sell TikTok or face a ban. Since then, TikTok <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/tiktok-goes-dark-for-170-million-users-trump-biden-2025-1#:~:text=TikTok%20has%20turned%20off%20its%20app%20for%20US%20users.,Donald%20Trump%20will%20step%20in.\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">went dark<\/a> for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/tiktok-goes-dark-for-170-million-users-trump-biden-2025-1#:~:text=TikTok%20has%20turned%20off%20its%20app%20for%20US%20users.,Donald%20Trump%20will%20step%20in.\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">170 million U.S. users<\/a> for one day, before Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/trumps-executive-orders-include-these-economic-policies\/485821\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">signed an executive order<\/a> extending the deadline for 75 days.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline was April 5 but now there is a new set of 75 days to get a deal done.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to working with TikTok and China to close the Deal,&#8221;
