The location will only handle drive-thru and mobile orders and is set to open on April 28.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdlr.texas.gov\/TABS\/Search\/Project\/TABS2024006040\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation<\/a> filing shows that the location cost nearly $1.2 million to build.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DIe2W0MTmqh\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>Starbucks told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrn.com\/restaurant-operations\/starbucks-is-opening-a-3d-printed-caf-in-texas\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\"><i>Nation&#8217;s Restaurant News<\/i><\/a> that it was creating the shop in partnership with PERI 3D Construction, a company that has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peri3dconstruction.com\/en\/%C3%BCber-uns\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">completed<\/a> 15 projects in the U.S. and Europe since its founding in 2015. Past projects include an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peri3dconstruction.com\/en\/mehrfamilienhaus-luenen\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">apartment building<\/a> in L\u00fcnen, Germany, constructed in 2023, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peri3dconstruction.com\/en\/einfamilienhaus-tempe\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">home<\/a> for Habitat for Humanity in Tempe, Arizona, created in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Texas is no stranger to 3D-printed projects. Construction company Icon is finishing the final properties of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/how-much-does-a-3d-printed-icon-home-in-texas-cost\/478301\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">3D-printed community of homes<\/a> in Georgetown, Texas. The 1,500 to 2,000 square foot homes range from $450,000 to $600,000. Icon has reportedly sold a quarter of the 100 homes in the community so far.<\/p>\n<p>Starbucks&#8217;s entry into 3D-printed structures arrives as the company undergoes a turnaround plan. Since Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol took over the role in September 2024, Starbucks has implemented sweeping changes at its stores to turn around declining sales from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/starbucks-is-cutting-13-drinks-from-its-menu-next-week-list\/487608\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">cutting 30% of its menu<\/a> in the U.S. by the end of the year and giving baristas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/starbucks-sets-barista-time-goals-to-reduce-waiting\/489235\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">strict time limits<\/a> on how quickly orders should be fulfilled (in-store and drive-thru orders should be ready within four minutes).<\/p>\n<p>Starting May 12, the coffeehouse is mandating a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/starbucks-introduces-a-strict-new-dress-code-for-baristas\/490077\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">new, strict dress code<\/a> for baristas at all stores consisting of khaki, black, or blue denim bottoms and a solid black shirt. Starbucks workers are also now required to add a personal touch to orders by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/starbucks-wants-to-turn-things-around-with-sharpies-mugs\/482207\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">writing down customer names<\/a> with a Sharpie on cups.<\/p>\n<p><b>Related: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/starbucks-new-ceo-can-make-over-100m-in-first-year\/478557\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">Starbucks&#8217; New CEO Can Make Up to $113 Million His First Year<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Starbucks reported in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/01\/28\/starbucks-sbux-q1-2025-earnings.html\" rel=\"follow\" target=\"_self\">most recent earnings<\/a>, for the first quarter of 2025, that U.S. same-store sales declined for the fourth consecutive quarter, falling by 4%. Foot traffic to U.S. Starbucks stores fell by 8% during the quarter.
