Last month, JPMorgan Chase, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emarketer.com\/content\/top-10-biggest-us-banks-by-assets--data-drop\">largest bank<\/a> in the U.S. with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpmorgan.com\/about-us\">$3.9 trillion<\/a> in assets, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/jpmorgan-will-fire-bankers-who-accept-future-dated-offers\/492978\" rel=\"\" target=\"_self\">warned incoming analysts<\/a> in a leaked email that they would be fired if they accepted a future-dated job offer before joining the bank or within the first 18 months of their employment.<\/p>\n<p>JPMorgan said that the policy was meant to prevent any possible conflicts of interest.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload\" loading=\"lazy\" role=\"presentation\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.entrepreneur.com\/images\/misc\/1752090290_David-Solomon-GettyImages-2212006513.jpg?width=1000\" style=\"height:667px; width:1000px\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\"\/><\/p>\n<p><sup><i>Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon. Photographer: Naina Hel\u00e9n J\u00e5ma\/Bloomberg via Getty Images<\/i><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, 69, previously said that the practice of losing talent to private equity was &#8220;unethical.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LHT6yB6RFYc\">At a talk<\/a> at Georgetown University in September, Dimon said that moving to private equity puts JPMorgan &#8220;in a conflicted position&#8221; because staff are already pledged to another firm while they handle confidential information at JPMorgan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think that&#8217;s unethical,&#8221; Dimon said at the talk. &#8220;I don&#8217;t like it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Major private equity firm Apollo Global Management <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/apollo-private-equity-recruiting-letter-2027-associates-oncycle-jpmorgan-chase-2025-6\">announced<\/a> last month that it would not conduct formal interviews or extend job offers to the class of 2027 in response to criticism about the private equity hiring process beginning too early.<\/p>\n<p><b>Related:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/goldman-sachs-to-managers-move-to-dallas-salt-lake-city\/488131\" rel=\"\" target=\"_self\">Goldman Sachs Asks Some Managers to Move From Major Hubs Like New York City to Emerging Regions Like Dallas \u2014 Or Quit<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Apollo CEO Marc Rowan told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-06-11\/apollo-delays-recruiting-of-junior-staff-after-bank-complaints\"><i>Bloomberg<\/i><\/a> in an emailed statement last month that &#8220;asking students to make career decisions before they truly understand their options doesn&#8217;t serve them or our industry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Apollo and Goldman Sachs offer comparable compensation packages. According to federal filings pulled by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/private-equity-salaries-at-blackstone-apollo-kkr-bain-others#apollo-global-management-1\"><i>Business Insider<\/i><\/a>, Apollo pays analysts a base salary of $115,000 to $150,000. Associates make anywhere from $125,000 to $200,000.<\/p>\n<p>In comparison, Goldman Sachs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-08-02\/goldman-sachs-bumps-junior-banker-pay-aligning-with-rivals?sref=Hhue1scO\">pays<\/a> first-year analysts $110,000 and first-year associates $150,000.
