You Can Make $180,000 at In-N-Out, Writes Burger Heiress Lynsi Snyder in Her New Book.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/nashville\/2023\/01\/10\/in-n-out-burger-expanding-corporate-office-restaurant-nashville-tennessee\">January 2023<\/a>, In-N-Out announced that it&#8217;s opening its first East Coast restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee, and building its first East Coast headquarters about 20 miles away in Franklin, which will <a href=\"https:\/\/san.com\/cc\/in-n-out-burger-moving-headquarters-from-california-to-tennessee\/\">cost $125 million<\/a> to construct. The burger chain plans to spread <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local3news.com\/local-news\/in-n-out-expands-to-chattanooga-and-other-tn-cities\/article_3f160b92-e4b4-11ef-a7ed-a3621ea55668.html\">across Tennessee<\/a>, expanding to Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Memphis, opening more than a dozen locations.<\/p>\n<p>In-N-Out is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/business\/story\/2025-05-10\/in-n-out-burger-new-locations-california-arizona-colorado-washington\">opening new locations<\/a> in Arizona, California, and Colorado this year and debuting its first location in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Snyder, who grew up in Northern California, said on the podcast that &#8220;the bulk&#8221; of In-N-Out stores are still going to be in the state, but that she is looking forward to having more of a footprint in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will be wonderful having an office out there, growing out there, and being able to have the family and other people&#8217;s families out there,&#8221; Snyder said on the podcast.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/in-n-out-lawyers-go-animal-style-on-ripoff-in-i-nout\/457995\" rel=\"\" target=\"_self\">In-N-Out<\/a> will also be consolidating its two existing California corporate offices, moving its Irvine headquarters to Baldwin Park, where the first In-N-Out location opened in the 1940s. Snyder disclosed on the podcast that the Irvine office will close by 2030 to complete the consolidation.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/data-openjustice.doj.ca.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-07\/Crime%20In%20CA%202023f.pdf\">California Department of Justice<\/a>, the violent crime rate in the state increased 15.1% from 2018 to 2023. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/217685\/most-dangerous-cities-in-north-america-by-crime-rate\/\">Statista<\/a>, around 3,640 violent crimes per 100,000 residents were reported in Oakland, California, in 2023, making Oakland the most dangerous city in the U.S. that year. Snyder <a href=\"http:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/24\/business\/in-n-out-closed-its-absolutely-dangerous-oakland-location\/\">said last year<\/a> that rising crime and &#8220;absolutely dangerous&#8221; conditions caused In-N-Out to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcbayarea.com\/news\/local\/oaklands-in-n-out-closes\/3490923\/\">shut down a restaurant<\/a> in Oakland in March 2024, marking the first time in the burger chain&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.in-n-out.com\/history\">77-year history<\/a> that it had to shutter a restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Snyder said that the company closed the profitable Oakland location &#8220;for the safety of our associates,&#8221; adding that &#8220;gunshots went through the store, there was a stabbing, there was a lot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><b>Related:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/business-news\/in-n-out-burger-is-expanding-in-more-states-new-locations\/465225\" rel=\"\" target=\"_self\">In-N-Out Burger Is Opening New Locations Outside of California \u2014 Here&#8217;s Where It&#8217;s Going Next<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Snyder&#8217;s grandparents, Harry and Esther Snyder, <a href=\"https:\/\/celebratecalifornia.library.ca.gov\/446\/#:~:text=Newlyweds%20Harry%20and%20Esther%20Snyder,California's%20first%20drive%2Dthru%20restaurant.\">founded In-N-Out<\/a> in 1948 as a single drive-thru hamburger restaurant in Baldwin Park, California. Today, the company has grown to more than 400 locations that bring in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/11\/27\/in-n-out-turned-burgers-into-a-cult-fave-bringing-in-billions.html\">$2.1 billion a year<\/a>, according to consulting firm Technomic.<\/p>\n<p>Snyder took over In-N-Out in 2017 at age 35 when she received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/what-in-n-out-lynsi-snyder-life-is-like-2018-12\">the final portion of her inheritance<\/a> that gave her 97% ownership of the company. She became one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/profile\/lynsi-snyder\/#:~:text=Lynsi%20Snyder%20is%20the%20heir,additional%20stake%20in%20the%20chain.\">world&#8217;s youngest billionaires<\/a> in the process.<\/p>\n<p>In-N-Out differentiates itself from competitors by vowing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.in-n-out.com\/menu\/food-quality\">never freeze ingredients<\/a> and crafting fresh-to-order burgers.
